Street Food: Camote Cue Fries ???

Filipinos are really creative in how they market the products that they need to sell.

Take a look at the common "Camote Cue "

to this....

Q , Cue or Que came from relating meat on a regular Barbecue and replacing it with kamote. Thus, the word Camote Cue  became a local slang.

My theory is that the introduction of fast food quickly decreased the sales of local Camote Cue vendors. Fries became a common snack  and local vendors may have used the iconic look of french fries to give Camote Cue a new look.

Well that's just my theory. It's also possible that they just made a mistake in cutting the camote.

But what ever the reason maybe, Camote Cue  is still a delicious Filipino Street Food that you should not miss.
